For example American phone companies use firms in Israel to do customer charging work and store traffic movement data. So just how many businesses have your phone records, who knows?
Gamers, all over the World will be concerned about their data and rather illogically they will stop playing. The data is in the system so stopping using it won't help. New customers will be thin on the ground for a while.
Companies want to get money in and they know that the credit card companies will 'hold the baby' if things go wrong. This is part of the reason for high card rates of interest.
My worry has been supermarket chains. I use Tesco for shopping and delivery of groceries and household stuff.
so I use them merely as an example. They have my name,address and post code, they have my e.mail, they have my phone and mobile number and they got several different card numbers of Credit and Debit Cards that I use, depending greatly on which ones are 'maxed out' or not !!! I have no idea if Tesco run their own data bank or sub contract. Wall Mart do their own and have the biggest data storage facility. In fact, they have a contract with the US government for the Government to microwave data to them should the Government facilities come under attack. So wall Mart have enough spare capacity to take Government data plus their own Worldwide stuff. Now that is huge !!! Not all firms have the same facilities.
So I hope supermarkets and anyone storing data tightens up. With less loss of data perhaps credit card interest rates will come down. Blogger removes rose tinted glasses and moves on !!!!!

You just enter the mobile number and the phone location appears on a map. So giving out mobile numbers on Facebook, etc., is just plain crazy as your number can be tracked to learn your movements.
The movement records are kept by the phone company. The apple/Google system keeps records on the phone as well.

As we would all be self employed getting individuals to sign up was bread and butter work. The big money was in small business plans. We were told to say, not in writing, of course, 'tell them it covers everything they ask about.' I said, 'what if?' Answer: 'By that time you could be dead or left the firm or whatever and anyway the provider picks up the tab as you are acting as their agent.' I would get a commission for the set up, plus one for every employee who joined up. this all came out via the huge Pension Selling enquiries and things were apparently tightened up.
So a Boss and ten workers was a great pay day. The firm matched each employee's payment. It was tax deductible for the firm. However the owners of the firm were the trustees of the Plan and could vote to lend money out at zero/low interest. Plans were looted and left with no pot to grow. The Plan only gained interest on the actual money and not on the total amount paid in. Morally, the loan should be paid back with enough interest to cover the interest which would have accrued, had the money remained in there. It rarely ever happens.
Employers were allowed to take payment holidays with the view that they would make it up later. They rarely bothered. If an employee fell behind, they just got bumped and their payments were frozen until they retired.
The Plan could be used as collateral for business loans and become forfeit should the borrower default. Basically, the employees were paying to work there!!!! I doubt if things have changed much since then. Needless to say I didn't work in the dirty business nor did I take up a Pension.

Most drinkers have a problem but just won't admit it. I told myself that I went out drinking to be sociable and make new friends. As a self employed person a lot of new work was gained over boozy lunches and dinners, which made me just want more booze. I had one golden rule never to work on stuff when under the influence of booze. You can guess how that turned out! i did very little work which piled up.
I caught a grip and employed people to do the general donkey work on a self employed basis and ended up making even more money for doing even less work. I paid them per hour worked at a third of my hourly charging rate.Not slave labour, higher than minimum rate. So I made 66% profit from their labours !! In addition, their payment was a tax deductible expense for me as they were sub contractors. I could take on more and more work and make more and money!
I whizzed round collecting and dropping off work to be done every morning. Finished off and finalised stuff and was out for lunch most days. The answer machine took messages which I could phone in and get, when I remembered or could be bothered. Nothing was ever urgent.
This went on until eventually I started to make errors. I was drinking over a bottle of vodka per day, more at weekends and I started to clear my head with cocaine and speed. To come down I used hash. I ended up a wreck but was still making loads of money. I was on the bumpy gravy train.
I became ill with kidney problems going in and out of hospitals while still keeping on going until I reached a turning point due to a bereavement. The next day, after the funeral, I stopped drinking for six months. I had already reduced my workload due to illness and I then reduced it further to one providing an income, only.
After six months I wanted to go out and about again. I found that I could go out for a couple of hours and drank sensibly with no spirits being touched. I had made it by will power alone.
You are not born with a glass in your hand. You put it there and can take it away. There is nothing wrong with altering your state of being with alcohol and/or drugs, in my opinion, as long as you go into these altered states occasionally, perhaps as a reward system. They should not be used as an escape mechanism. Now I have a couple of cans of lager as and when I choose, not as a need. I like wine with food or when chilling out talking with friends. I can take it or leave it as I please, now.

What she should have done is presented a calm demenour, filmed them doing it and then called the Police. Thus the police, with evidence shown to them, can go and make arrests for criminal damage. The gypsies would not know until Court date, who had provided the evidence. Had she been calm and business like, she would have kept her guns with a chance to shoot them later !!!!
Police no longer stop crime. They merely act as investigators of past crimes or are custodians these days.

Punters want their money back as the stunt failed to work.!! Well, legally, they did not see the show, as advertised. They really do have grounds to claim. In addition, they may feel that a civil legal action may get them money for trauma caused, children having nightmares, following the stuntman's death. They could sue on health and safety failings,mechanical failing, engineer report and test failings, equipment failings, operator failings. Basically sue everybody and hope for a windfall !!
In America, there would be a class action where all join together and sue collectively. in the Uk we are heading that way. But more and more people are resorting to Civil Court as a good bet to gain money for cheap fees. It is becoming a good bet to litigate.many will settle out of Court and pay your fees too. So get in there and make a few quid by sueing anybody for anything. Lawyers need the money too.

Exactly why I never bought one! They are so busy selling units, for big profits ,that they they didn't care about card security too much. After all, if they lose the data, the banks and card companies take the fall for it all anyway. As long as the spell the name right, Sony, they get free advertising, none of which is bad for them in the long term. However, interest rates and charges, especially on credit Cards, stay ridiculously high, in order, that the companies recoup their losses through fraud. As long as they are making money, why bother, is the general rule.

they got well and truely hacked. More importantly their customers details have been stolen. As I said in a earlier post involving Sony. Game player networks, where payments are made to join or play, are easier targets than banks and card companies. You are going to see a lot of these hacks done. The next tier down, which I worry about, are Supermarket groups. A Supermarket may store a lot of data on you. I have my groceries delivered after ordering and paying by computer So let's take me as an example.
They have my name, my address, my e mail my phone number, my mobile number as back up , my post code and my card details for several different cards. I "max out" a card and change to another, sometimes, as many people do. When a debit card is checked for approval they then get which bank the card relates too. So, it shows that I have a current account with them. If I have a current account and cards, the balance of probabilities says that I have income and with cards it says that I am credit worthy. I am a prime target for a cloned profile to be used to get loads of cards and purchases.
All of this data for every delivery customer, never mind those who go fight their way round the stores, then queue and then pay. Cards and guarantee cards are all recorded. There must be a new Law, World wide, requiring holders of third party financial data to have a minimum security standard.

I do not dislike, personally, any member of any Royal Family in any country in the World as I do not know any of them. The 'first family' situation has long been an anachronism, held over from feudal times when, due to poor or no education, the people looked to the educated rulers for guidance. Kings and Queens ran the World.
Now, with much more education, people can run their own system without their help. They should be thanked for the good things that their families have done and be pensioned off and finished with altogether. Holland has managed it. So has Sweden, Norway and Denmark. So why can't Britain manage to do without them?
