A fruity defense or were the rasps pickled in alcohol to preserve them by any chance? A 94 yr old might just get confused between marmalade, which has gin in it, and grapes and pickling stuff. Marinating stuff in alcohol softens it up and pickling preserves stuff. The lady could be confusing all of these terms and juxtaposing one action with another. So the taxi driver has a case, in my view. Why did he plead guilty, anyway.?
