Punters want their money back as the stunt failed to work.!! Well, legally, they did not see the show, as advertised. They really do have grounds to claim. In addition, they may feel that a civil legal action may get them money for trauma caused, children having nightmares, following the stuntman's death. They could sue on health and safety failings, mechanical failing, engineer report and test failings, equipment failings, operator failings. Basically sue everybody and hope for a windfall !!
In America, there would be a class action where all join together and sue collectively. in the Uk we are heading that way. But more and more people are resorting to Civil Court as a good bet to gain money for cheap fees. It is becoming a good bet to litigate.many will settle out of Court and pay your fees too. So get in there and make a few quid by sueing anybody for anything. Lawyers need the money too.
