What she should have done is presented a calm demenour, filmed them doing it and then called the Police. Thus the police, with evidence shown to them, can go and make arrests for criminal damage. The gypsies would not know until Court date, who had provided the evidence. Had she been calm and business like, she would have kept her guns with a chance to shoot them later !!!!
Police no longer stop crime. They merely act as investigators of past crimes or are custodians these days.
