The heirs of Jaques De Molay demand an apology from the Vatican for their part in plot hatched by king Philip the Fair of France to round up the Templars on false charges backed up by the them Pope. All of this plotting was contrived because the Templars had loaned a lot of money to Philip for wars and the loans were falling due for payment. Philip had spent it all!! The Pope disliked the power of the Templars and saw them as a threat to his authority. They also had funds lodged in the Vatican which could be taken over by them. This money came in handy too. Well, everybody needs to party and the Popes, of the time, really partied hard at that time. Most had wives, mistresses, attended orgies and had the clap !! Even alter boys were not safe in the poor light and booze filled palaces of the Vatican.
