Cyclist forced to slam on his brakes to avoid being hit by a police car

Cyclist forced to slam on his brakes to avoid being hit by a police car | Mail Online

Personally I would ban cyclists from the roads. They should only be allowed on cycle paths. Cycle lanes don't work as there are many pot holes in them as there are on most roads. Cyclists wobble along and then suddenly swerve when they see a pothole. Drivers haven't got a chance never mind heavy lorries.
Even worse some cyclists come out at night with their flicker little lamps, if they have them at all!!! They have no insurance. When you hear the sound of a pedal scratch up the side of your car you know there is no point in chasing after them, normally you can't get out of the traffic jam to do so in any case. They have no registration plate, either, where you could, at least, take their number and engage  in a Civil Action for the cost of the damage.
When I was a taxi driver, we all used to honk horns and shout abuse at cyclists, in the hopes that they would fall off. Sick I know, but have you ever tried to stop for a punter when a blobs of wobbly latex are puffing along between you and the pavement, while cars are stacking up behind you?
In Belgium and France Police motor cyclists, never mind cyclists, are not allowed on the roads, at night. HGV drivers swing their trailers at them and they end up in fields, in hedges and hospital!! How can,we in Britain allow these slow moving cyclists out on the roads?
Courier 'kamikaze' cyclists bowl along on pavements, as do many children. Same mentality, I suppose. They jump traffic lights and have no idea where their brakes are.The funniest cyclists, on the road, are the cops on mountain bikes. all that expensive kit with blue long shorts on!! All they need is a blue light on their safety helmets!
When they stop to make an arrest, someone always nicks their bike. Mountain bikes are expensive especially the reinforced ones needed to take some cops weight! most Police stations have abandoned them to the shed as they kept being stolen, at what cost to the tax payer.! Keep bikes off the road!
