These Law suits are all very well, but these huge companies have battalions of lawyers to go into Court and spin the whole thing out, with motions and counter motions, flying back and forward. This tactic ensures the probability of the other side running out of money for legal fees. The only chance that claimants have is the class action, pro bono, law suit. This comes about when one lawyer's firm takes on a load of people, in similar circumstances, for free. They claim their expenses on top of any re-embursements/compensation that the punters get out of it all. The lawyers can make bundles, should they win, as they are billing each client, but only really doing the main work, once, with the lesser, minor, individual, details sorted out, as they go along.
This type of action does not happen in the Uk and it should do. It saves Court time, for other matters, stops the Courts clogging up, with loads of individual cases, all stalling, ducking and diving all over the place. Different lawyers appear in Court near to where the alleged activity took place, this scatters them all over the Uk. Then you have the hassles between Scots and English Law to contend with in addition.
