The plane which took off from near the bunker has always bothered me. Nobody seems to know who was in it or where it actually went. It is a short hop from Berlin to Austria and the small plane was capable of landing in a field or on a roadway.
Submarines were constantly transferring booty and people to South America, mainly Argentina. From there they spread themselves about into Patagonia, Brazil and Paraguay. These countries/areas have no extradition treaties with the US, Russia or the Uk.
The NAZIs had wealth and worked their way up within the fledgling political systems in these countries which were really like the old wild west at that time. Attempts at revolution took place and were crushed by the skill of the backroom boys from Brazil. The head honchos were grateful and gave them cover. South America was also handy for the alleged bases n Antarctica.
So a short flight to Austria, then onward to Spain and into a sub to travel to South America would certainly be possible in the confusion at the end of the War.
