More than 80% of Tories say they want Cameron to offer a referendum on EU treaty | Mail Online

The European Union is in such a mess, that it is time that we, in the Uk, had a fair referendum to decide whether we stay in or not. The EU, is now a them and us situation, with many using the Euro and others who don't. This is silly. If you join a club, you should abide by the rules. If you don't like them, then by all means advocate for change while obeying the rules. A member can't pick and choose, which rules to obey or disobey. The Uk does this and it really is silly.
Charles de Gaulle realised that the EU was rubbish, but he knew that the French loved the idea. It is very good for them and the Germans, due to the Common Agricultural Policy hand outs, that farmers get NOT to grow crops!!! He did the Uk a huge favour, by continually, blocking our membership.
The referendum that we had, to join up, was fiddled. The Government began to realise that the people did not want to join. So they changed the rules, near to voting day, but did little to tell anybody. As usual, the electorate assumed it was a done deal and did not bother to turn out. But this was not to be the normal first passed the post election. 40% of those who voted had to say no. This was the fiddle. There had never been a vote where fixed percentages were involved. It was always one vote more than the other side, who won it, no matter how many voted or did not. I personally advocate that everybody should vote, by Law. Then we would have a country wide view. With postal voting there is no reason why everybody should not vote. I voted No in the first Referendum.
We really should have another one, quickly in order to resolve the debacle with a first passed the post result or better still, everybody voting.
