I have often wondered if a blogger could be considered to be an independent journalist. This case seems to prove my fears that we bloggers are not considered as such. In here, I always change the spellings or names round about to avoid be sued. This is a trick that I learned from the wonderful satirical UK magazine Private Eye, of which, I have been a subscriber for decades.
The owners and staff were being, continually, sued and losing, over stories they printed. They had to legally transfer all assets into partners names, to save their funds and property from being sold to pay Courts and judgements.Then they came up with changing enough of a name to make it understandable, but different in Law. A person named Wilson, could not sue, over remarks attributed to a person named Wislon.
