Vegetables help to prevent Cancer

Medical science now know some, but not all, factors which help to prevent Cancer. Vegetables are high on the list of helpful items. So eat yer greens!! Here are some details..................

CABBAGE
Cabbage is especially rich in anti-cancer substances which help to block the development of Cancer at all levels. These substances suppress the activity of the genes responsible for the development. They prevent damage to healthy genes and decrease the ability of timorous cells to grow.

BRUSSELS SPROUTS and BROCCOLI.
Independent research in Britain, Denmark and Finland has shown that even a small amount of broccoli (100 grams a day) is enough to lower the risk of prostate and Lung Cancer. Sprouts are rich in Calcium, Sodium, Phosphor and Iron.

ONION and GARLIC

Both of these are capable of preventing primary damage to genes causing Cancer development. Garlic is good for preventing Colon Cancer and decreases the risk by 70%. Garlic is best eaten raw and finely chopped. It is best to let it "breath" for 10/15 minutes.

TOMATOES.

These have an anti-cancer pigment also in pepper. They are good in any way, fresh, as ketchup, in sauces, tomato paste and juice. Research has shown that consumption of tomato juice daily for a month lowers the risk of Prostate Cancer by 20%

BLUEBERRY and RASPBERRY.

Blueberry was, long ago, seen to be a miracle berry. They have a high concentration of antioxidants and protect the cells from destruction. The dark blue segment, also found in bilberry, enhances eyesight and helps prevent eye diseases.

GREEN TEA.

Green Tea has loads of antioxidants as well as a depository of the important anti-cancerogenic, epigallocatechin gallate. This substance prevents tumor growth and decreases the risk of them appearing. 5 cups of Green Tea daily decreases the chances of Breast Cancer. It should be taken neat with nothing added.

SPICES>

Indian curry spice provokes the health loss and restrains growth of Cancer cells. This becomes possible due to Curcuma or Curcumin as it is called by some.
