If you like Spam, join the Army!!

The Conservative defence spokesman in the House of Lords, Lord Astor of Hever, today askedthat the Government do "everything possible" to ensure that decent food reaches forward posts in Afghanistan. Strange you may think that our troops don't have good food. After all Napoleon said that an army marches on it's stomach.

Well due to the lack of helicopters some troops are being forced to eat either boil in the bag meals or tinned SPAM for up to fifty days at a time!! One enterprising army chef constructed a spam menu containing: Curried Spam, Spam carbonara, Spam fritters, stir fried Spam, Spam strogonoff and sweet and sour Spam.These forward bases have about 400 people and that's a lot of Spam.

The Government spokesman, Lord Tunnicliffe replied saying, "most bases typically have chefs ho work with 80% fresh or dried food and 20% ration packs.

So ho is right? I think we should be told.
