She is out of the country now. I think that, considering the very poor evidence, they would look very stupid to mount an appeal, which would need an extradition, to get her back there, without a doubt, which could take years.
AN UPDATE
Apparently this appeal, by the Italians does not require her presence until the finding. In another twist,America would refuse to extradite her as she has been found not guilty. So, the appeal is a waste of time, but may save face, all round, for the Italians,who really have botched this case, with dodgy forensic evidence.
