While I agree that populations should not expand unless they can sustain themselves. It is a fact that every single person on the Planet could be fitted into their own small individual ground level home within the State of Texas and still leave room for many more, thus leaving the rest of the World, empty.
The biggest problem is not population, although 2 kids to any future family, as China has tried to enforce on it's people, is an good plan. The problem is that food is not produced near to the biggest population areas.
Food distribution is a much bigger problem than population numbers. However we must plan ahead.
