Well it is Census time in Scotland again. Doesn't seem like 10 years since the last one.i wonder how many stupid questions will be on this one? Who knows, as the forms are not out yet for a Census taking place on 27th March.
The idea is a good one, I suppose, to take stock of the number of people in a country, the number and ages of children growing up in this country. But why do they need to know how many people speak Gaelic? Now with the wonders of the internet you can fill in your form online. However you gotta wait until the paper form arrives so that you can quote a reference number. For security and tracing purposes no doubt. How many trees did it cost to print all of these forms to send to people who want to do their answers on line/ How much printing and logo design costs have there been?
Why not send out a post card asking do you want paper or online? then send a reference to be used if you choose online. So much cheaper and the customer has the choice. It is now the 7th of march and I have no form, therefore no reference. So I can't fill it in on line until I get the paper form with the reference on it. If I don't get it before 27th of March they can get stuffed. The paper form will take pride of place in the loo and be used as required!!!!! Anyway I lied on the last one and probably will do on this new one too.what possible difference could it make?
