Charities are tax exempt in most countries, certainly in the Uk. So there is nothing to stop one being set up to launder money!! Crooks could loan money to the charities by anonymous donation schemes and be paid back, against bogus invoices, in clean money, later, from the "real" donations.
So before you donate find out more about the charity of your choice. Not all are what they seem.
