Police are blasted by crime victims after telling them to report offences using SKYPE | Daily Mail Online



Who are they trying to kid?  The police have Skype paid for by the taxpayer. However for a person to have Skype, they need a computer,an internet connection and the ability to work it. This all costs money,whereas popping into a police station costs very little in comparison. The whole game is to cut down reports of crime and let them stay in their nice warm offices with their coffee and crumpets.!

The Police like the Civil Service have good wages and can afford to have an internet connection and a £350 computer. To assume,as this does, that everybody is connected is crazy.

People claiming Unemployment Benefit have to use a jobsearch system and fill in what they have done to find work such as looking at papers etc. Many employment agencies use E mail to inform about jobs.

Again these people assume that the punter has full internet and a computer at home. On a single person's benefit of about £60 a week they are having a laugh!!!

So the lucky ones,with families and large benefit income can search from home, but others must trot to the joke centre every other day to become more and more demoralised.

It is high time that high wage earners realised that not everyone has a computer never mind an internet connection !!
