How Tony Blair took us into the disastrous Iraq war by Peter Oborne | Daily Mail Online
The Chilcot enquiry was always going to be a whitewash from the beginning. Chairmanship of pseudo investigations like these are given as a sinecure to judges, whom the establishment either wants to reward or more often to get them out of the mainstream and onto a sidetrack. They normally reach retirement age during the Enquiry and are never seen or heard of again.
The whole idea is to let them drag on and on with periodic interim reports and to ensure that the public can't remember why they were set up in the first place.!! The costs may seem huge but honestly the compensation payments would have been much larger for claimants. These suffering folks have been sidelined in their claims by having to wait for a result. Many will be dead by then !!
