He's flying without wings! Father builds Boeing 737 cockpit in his son's bedroom
Madness! However, I understand it,completely! When I was young I thought about being a pilot. Two of my uncles were pilots, one in the RAF and the other with BEA which became BA. Both died in crashes, neither of which was their fault. So that hit being a pilot on the head, for me.
I decided that I would never take responsibility for other peoples safety, only my own. I thought about Air Traffic Control but discarded that for the same reasons.
I have recently got the airplane bug back again by using www.planefinder.net This site plots, in real time, all civil planes, which are fitted with transponders, flying all over the world. There is a further section, which I am totally hooked on,in which you can see an individual plane, as it flies, on route. Google Earth supplies the terrain. After some practice, you can pick a plane approaching an airport, or flying over one and watch other traffic in the skies near to "your" plane. It is fascinating. so much so, that I have ordered a program, which allows me to be a controller, in virtual reality. So no danger to folks. I explain how to use planefinder further down.
So I can totally understand why this guy has built a cockpit in his bedroom.
