No doubt having heard about a bomb going off in a Moscow Airport the authorities were not going to take any chances. But one wonders under what exact conditions would the Typhoons have been told to shoot it down.
I guess that Airbus, being a huge joint venture, with a number of countries involved in the manufacture, has not got the Boeing system, whereby a plane can be taken over from the ground and the cockpit controls locked out. After the Boeing 737 they all have it fitted. Boeing kept the whole thing a secret until they sold the planes to the German Luftwaffe and the cunning Germans found it and ripped it out. They then put in one of their own which only Germany can use which is probably what they were doing when they found the US system!!.
