The Scheme family in £60k benefits probe after show sparks enquiry - The Daily Record
The saga of "TheScheme" limps onward. This disaster show has made a packet for the makers of the Scheme who spent a year filming within a housing "Scheme" in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. Out of a year of film they managed to get 4 one hour shows. After the first two were shown it was suddenly discontinued.
Many of the unpaid 'stars' had been arrested, in between the end of filming and the showing of the programme. They were due to appear in Court at later dates. While a trial is pending, nobody may have their details shown publicly in case of any bias developing in the minds of possible jurors. So the final two episodes were put on hold. Since then various cast members have offended or re offended and their cases have not come up as yet. The whole thing was a waste of money and turned out to be a shambles.
We had the 'star' dog disappearing and being found in London. I thought, at the time, that it was a stunt. But nothing was proven as to how the dog travelled over 500 miles by itself!!! The girlfriend of a 'star' was charged with trying to smuggle drugs into prison for her 'star' boyfriend and owner of the dog. She is currently in prison for this and other offences. He was arrested recently after a fight in the street developed. He said that he was being chatted up and asked for kisses by some young ladies. One of their boyfriends objected and an altercation took place. Oh the price of fame or infamy. You decide.
Now a couple, who also appeared in this twaddle, are now being investigated for possible Social Security fiddling. They claimed to be living apart but were filmed in one home, only, with no mention of their exact circumstances. It has been assumed that they were co habiting they say. No doubt there will be logs of him/her leaving and film support. It is not normal for a case to be brought without time having been spent carrying out a full check. If they are living apart then they get more money per week as they are treated as being in separate households. This scam happens a lot. A guy will move in with a woman leaving his furniture at home. The Council pay both rents and both person's local taxes but only one home is used. If one or other has a drink problem then they can separate to go on a bender and then return!! Sometimes the 'spare' home is rented out for cash as a trysting spot for couples committing adultory or on a more permanent basis.
The independent company who sold this idea to the BBC have been paid, with license payers money. We, on the other hand, haven't even been allowed to see it, yet, over a year later !!!
