Korea

The Korean War of the fifties never really ended. A ceasefire was agreed but never ratified into a Peace Treaty, surrender or end of hostilities. Technically North and South Korea are still at War.
A DMZ was put in place and both Koreas face each other watching through the barbed wire.
Some months ago a South Korean ship was sunk, under mysterious circumstances, with the loss of 46 lives. It was within International waters and not encroaching within North Korean sea areas. The South Koreans have remained calm and searched for proof of the cause of the sinking. Now, today, they have put forward a piece of a torpedo with North Korean script on it which the say was the absolute cause of the sinking!!! So, unless it is a false flag job with some other launcher of this torpedo it really looks like North Korea are in the frame for this one.
So what happens now is the big question. Will hostilities begin? I doubt it. South Korea, a highly industrialised and extremely prosperous nation just has too much to lose. There will be posturing. There will be shouting and swearing. A UN sanction will be issued equivalent to a yellow card in football and just as easily ignored.
Eventually some nutty Submarine Captain will be put up suffering from mental illness as his Granny's chip shop or noodle stand was bombed during the war. Reparations or blood money will be paid to relatives and it will all go away I hope!!!.
