Considering that most of the Vatican science section of priests accepted the Big Bang Theory very shortly after it was announce it has taken a very long time to confirm their agreement. Remember that Vatican City is an independent country. They have all the departments that any normal Government of any modernised country would have including Science, Health and Theological matters.

This Earth could be floating within the blood of a giant person and be as small as an atom to the host. Perhaps the giant lanced a boil on their bum at Big Bang and the solar systems and everything else spurted out! We just do not know what else is surrounding us. You see all of our sizes and time is man made. We have nothing externally to relate anything too. Our day is 24 Earth hours but to a person on AT546MN that same amount of our time may be equal to a second on their time scales.
This is why we must stop being so xenophobic, planet wise, and realise that other time scales may be very different to ours. To us travelling 467 light years might take one minute of their time and be a distance of half a mile. Nothing to do with speed of travel or anything else just simply how each group looks and records things.
