In some housing schemes, mostly, but it can be anywhere, it can be dangerous just to answer the door.! from the rich like Bernie Ecclestone to the poor like this lady people are being attacked and robbed on their own doorstep.
With a push and a trip a person answering the door ends up down on the ground. One will normally jump on top, sometimes with a knife, while the other grabs whatever they can.. Then both leg it, Others, who may have followed you for days, know if you are alone or not. Keeping a radio or TV on gives the illusion of company.
They will come in and ransack your place.
So always make sure that you know who is out there. Fit a door chain, it will delay them a bit. A webcam or secured entry is much better but expensive. So you may not think that you are worth it !!!!
