This disaster, 40 years ago, began drastic changes to football grounds all over the UK. It, together with the Hillsborough disaster, resulted in making football grounds all seating with better access to enter and leave. I can vividly remember the black and white news pictures showing the steep, uneven and worn stairway at the Copland Road end of Ibrox Park in Glasgow taken in the dismal grey light of a Winter's day.
