Well well well! The Pizza done it! If she had not been seen on CCTV buying a Pizza he might just have got away with it. It had to be someone that she would either share a Pizza with, or buy one for, on the way home. This makes it a plotted event, which was planned down to getting her to come to the centre of the spider's web and deliver a Pizza to him which led to her death, more than likely after a refusal of advances, I would think.
So the boyfriend was out of town. The Professor just might have been a willing bluff or, indeed, a suspect. The friend, invited, did not get the message and I would bet that it will play on his mind for the rest of his life. He will be forever saying to himself, 'why did I not read the text?' So the Pizza wrapping was not with any of them, so where was it? The simple thing is often the downfall. I did post 'cherchez la Pizza !'
Now the question is, who has been arrested? The flying Dutchman or a friend of his using the flat who asked a favour of her, or is it a new tennant or even a robber, whom she disturbed and hit with the Pizza box? This box may then have got some hairs on it, possibly fingerprints too. So the box had to go, too.
