You know the amount of weeping and wailing that Israelis pour out about being victims you would think that they might just be sympathetic to the people of Gaza. But greed takes a hand as usual. Yes Israel wants the land. However there are huge deposits of Natural Gas and oil of the coast of Gaza and a Western side seaport would help a lot too.
The gas is currently being brought up by a consortium of British gas(60%) CCC of Lebanon (30%) and Gaza (10%) This group's biggest customer is Israel.!! There is a 15 year lease in operation and the Israelis want the gas and oil. Why Yasar Arafat signed away all the assets of Gaza I just don't understand.
