They need it now. The problems arise due the mileages covered and the booking and paying of ferry fares both ways for huge tankers and their crews. I don't see why an empty trailer can't be put on a ferry and replaced with a full one. This would mean that the unit and driver would not be sitting on the ferries doing nothing. One unit and driver would deliver onto the ferry and take off the empty one. On the islands a unit and driver living there could pt an empty on the ferry and take the full one off.This would save a unit and crew for other deliveries. Apparently the worry is that the unitless rig may have to be moved on the deck. How often does that happen? Very, very rarely I suspect.
