In Scotland,we are charged 5p per bag,right now. Many people save bags and when going shopping, they take empty bags with them. Unfortunately this has been of benefit to shoplifters,who now have a reason to have multi named bags.

I have my groceries delivered by Tesco who give me the option of no bag or bags at 5p each. My regular spend is about £50 twice a month and I take bags. They normally cost me 70p in total per month.

The bags come in handy for storing things in or putting rubbish in, prior to dumping it
