We already have cops,carrying guns,in pairs and in special sections. We then have Special Branch,which  straddles the area between police and spooks For more military than civil options thee s the SAS.

As they are attached to the Army,they can go anywhere in the Uk and/or the Commonwealth and/or anywhere in the World. This new police controlled group will,no doubt,only operate in England and Wales only.
