Yada yada yada!  As long as they are shouting at each other, I don't care. As Churhhill said 'jaw jaw, is better than War War.'  In my opinion, the whole thing is just smoke and mirrors. It is another case of look over there, as something big is gonna happen over here.

I believe America is heading for a grid down scenario, as a result, probably, from a huge earthquake, on the west coast. Loads of cable and generators are being bought and positioned on the east coast. Ships and troops are all being positioned out at sea traveling, supposedly, to the middle east. It will be quite easy to order their return.

In a major disaster, the big problem is logistics. Having materials and people travel to the epicenter is difficult due to infrastructure problems and people needing to be evacuated and/or bolting from the area. Both groups just collide. So having a portable force, ready to move in, is a sensible idea. A cover story, of course, is essential, to avoid panic and folks bolting here, there and everywhere.! A possible War, allows collection of materials and troops and keeps folk at home.
