Steve Bell on Cameron's election campaign to date | Comment is free | The Guardian
Now Cameron is promising 50,000 apprenticeship jobs. Most firms cannot take on workers, who are able to produce profits for firms, which is the idea. Workers produce, firms sell, profits made. Capitalism 101.
Apprentices must be trained and assigned a mentor who will not produce as much. So the apprentice becomes the bag carrier and told to watch while the worker tries to keep up with quotas and bonuses. They learn more at College than on the shop floor.
