Iraqi dinars are being traded all over the world, as if they were still a legal currency. Speculators are hoping to make quick profits by buying them up cheap, in the hopes that the new Iraq will bring them back and float them on currency markets, as happened prior to the Iraq War.

Stories that the Dinar is coming back have been floating round for years and nothing ever happens. Iraq is dealing in American Dollars which suits America fine as Iraq must buy Dollars with Iraqi oil and other assets.
