All of these Pirate injunctions are issued from Courts in London and most certainly do not cover Scotland which has a totally separate legal system. Many lawyers don't seem to realise this, never mind the people obtaining the injunctions.
The infamous footballers shagging other players wives was a wonderful case in point. They got injunctions to prevent the press naming them. So the press, all over Europe named them. I googled about it and got their names and I printed it names and all. There had been no Scottish or European Court ban so........To my knowledge there has been one case in Scotland, loosely involving pirated music. A nurse, in Ayrshire, downloaded loads of music and made up CD's for friends. Seeing a nice earner she began flogging these round the bars. She was not charged with pirating, as there is no law covering it,
in Scotland. However, she was charged with breech of copyright laws.
