A 15 year lease was drawn up to allow drilling in the Palestinian sector with the profits divided as follows..........British Gas,who do the drilling 60% CCC of Lebanon, who do onshore refining and pumping, to both Israel and Jordan 30% and the Palestinians get the remaining 10%
This lease is over half way and for this reason Israel wants to take over Palestine. In my view,no other reason exists!! Israel wants that sector which would give them two thirds of the whole field. They could then,easily, drain the Egyptian sector by horizontal fracking or boring.
If Palestine exists, at the end of the lease, then it is probable that a new, much longer, one could be signed.
