So parents should be going nuts about this action. Who stores the fingerprints and why?  The same game has been going on in a private prison in Kilmarnock Ayrshire Scotland.

People visiting inmates must scan in their fingerprints or they are refused a visit by guards. This is illegal, as nobody can take an innocent person's prints, other than on a voluntary basis, for elimination. After which the prints must be returned and records destroyed.

Not only are visitors being scanned but the prisoners themselves, no matter whether they are on remand or serving time, have to scan in their prints to get meals.  No prints, no meals.  This is also illegal under general prison regulations. It would appear that guards are writing down refused food and covering this up.
