Petrol sharks pile on agony for drivers: After price-fixing raid on BP and Shell, damning report reveals traders are driving up costs for motorists |

In Scotland, there is only one refinery at Grangemouth on the East Coast which is owned by BP. With the exception of ESSO,most of the petrol you use is from there no matter what it says on the side of the tanker or on the forecourt! ESSO have a huge strage depot, supplied by ship,in Dumbarton, just outside Glasgow, on the River Clyde. A trickle of petrol comes up from England,by road tanker, mainly in the South of Scotland.
So, no matter what the price, basically, you get the same petrol everywhere!! Companies other than BP have their particular additives added at Grangemouth to make a small difference.
The same crap happens at all other refineries, in the UK. This is called reciprocity, in the jargon.
