Who owns Rockall? A history of legal and diplomatic wrangles | UK news | The Guardian
In 1972 a law was passed confirming Rockall as being part of Scotland. Ireland,Iceland and Denmark have lodged claims with the UN to say that it belongs to them. In fact, it was given to Scotland,at the time of the Vikings, by Denmark as a result of some peace treaty and has been Scottish ever since.
