In pictures: The Shaft and Silo at Dounreay

BBC News - In pictures: The Shaft and Silo at Dounreay

Dounreay is on the Northern Coast of Scotland and has very poor access. Now all of the nuclear crap, up there, must be transported to Winscale nuclear Dustin in Cumbria which is on the North West coast of England.
Winscale has a dock and for most of last Summer a heavy lift ship moved nuclear rubbish from a German nuclear station on the Baltic Coast to Windscale. If the ship sunk then it would go deep, so little problem.
Now Dounreay has no dock. So some twat has put forward a proposal to spend over £30 million in building a railway from Dounearay to Windscale and then will transport all of this nuclear rubbish over land. My land, Scotland!!!!
A harbour at Dounreay would be cheaper and much safer.
