Having read through this article a number of things sprang to mind.
Why would such an advanced, wonderful, civilisation bother about us in this zoo on which we live, fight and steal from each other? Why expend all of the time and considerable assets in building and staffing huge space ships just for our benefit? Then do nothing at all!!! The song Impossible Dream also came to mind.
Religion has kept man in reasonable order for thousands of years but is now failing. Is this an attempt at a mark 2 to provide another ultimate deterrent to evil doing?
The older one being, if you ain't good, you don't go to Heaven. This one being if you ain't good you don't go to the fourth/fifth dimension. I can't see much difference in the game plan, can you?
