I am quite sure that Ferrari tested their 4 by 4 to virtual demolition before it went on sale, knowing very well that some journalists would be queueing up to bring it down. The same sort of thing happened to Porshe when they brought out a four door car. BMW when they brought out a small one. Aston Martin and Range Rover brought out mini ones too. Most of the snob motoring press didn't like it, but punters did, as it became easier to buy one, with a famous badge, which suited their circumstances.
Why should supercar companies not build for all types, why is it considered to be so wrong? Lambo built tractors at one time.
