Gary McKinnon what now?

Gary McKinnon was arrested in 2002 and has been fighting extradition to USA since then. Hs "crime" was to use a 64 bit computer on a dial-up network to enter into NASA and various other sites. The security on these sites was, to say the least, abysmal! Some had no passwords and others left as "default.
He maintains an interest in extraterrestrial visits and aliens in general. He maintains that if they existed, then NASA was sure to have information about them. So he roamed, freely, in cyberspace to try and find information about Alien technology which could be used to help with heating issues regarding the elderly he maintains. it should be noted that Gary has mental health problems and learning difficulties. He used software called "Remotely, Anywhere" which allowed him to enter other computer systems disguising him as an administrator and off he went. He was caught online several times and his presence was queried. He bluffed his way round the queries by typeing that he was an admin guy doing a security check and complimented the questioners on their skill!!
He ploughed through loads and loads of admin bumpf but eventually found two huge files which he could not download on his 64 bit unit. The dial up speed would also have made downloading taking weeks if not months!!
The first file contained a list of "Non-terrestrial Officers" and the second contained a spreadsheet dealing with "fleet to fleet transfers."
It has been said that non terrestrial officers could be satellite repair people! But surely they must be having a laugh with that one. Gary checked all Naval and merchant ship records and could find none of the names mentioned as relating to any ship. So what did he find?
The Americans are so angry that they insist on his deportation to USA. They say that millions of dollars worth of damage was caused to their computer systems. More likely it cost them that much to go through everything and insert passwords, firewalls and security entry alarms!!
personally I think he done them a favour and he should get a consultants fee! However, if he is deported he faces a sentence of up to 60 years in prison!
So to the "what now" part. Both Cameron and Clegg said prior to the election that they will NOT allow the deportation to happen. So when William Hague goes to meet Hilary Clinton soon will this be raised? Will they keep their word now that they are BOTH in Government?
