So Jade Goody is dead. Sad for her nearest and dearest but really she made a right few quid out of it!!! Every day we got headlines like "Jade farted. ""Jade lost her hair." Dying in the public arena is the new voyeurism. You could hear them in the shops wondering "how is Jade today?"
Her lucky break was being picked to appear on a reality TV Show. she saw her chance and verbally attacked an Asian woman live on the show and then made the big apology and became a "star."
She went to India to see the poverty and had a cathartic change of mind. The whole thing was a set up !!The contestants on these shows are screened by physcologists and people are put together to spark off in order to gain the almighty ratings and make the sheeple watch it.
Th Asian woman was an intelligent sensible woman who saw through it and would not get involved in the manipulation. Jade was a loud mouth Londoner with set views on race. The fireworks followed and made her, firstly, a baddie with whom, secretly, many agreed. Later she becomes a saint working for the poor and making a few quid for herself and her publisher and her manager etc etc.
She saw her chance, with the hand that she was dealt, and took it. Fair enough. After all what did she have? Living with a violent criminal with two kids, in inner city London, with little future ahead and then the big break. Life becomes rosy and then the helter skelter of life hit her with cancer.
Oh, by the way, the Asian woman was an Indian film star actress and probably a plant in my view.Her career did all right as the "wronged woman." But you could see in her body language that she thought it all distasteful. They tried to make it all confrontational and keep the pot boiling but quite rightly she was having none of it and went home to India to make more films.
Her international film career,which she had come to London to promote, finished. Her management and pushers must have been very upset. Good for her!! She saw the plot and would not play.
So the boundaries have been pushed further out. Dying in "public" is the latest thing. We have had two American live suicides on the internet. Mass shootings where the perpatrators knew that they would be famous.
Is the new big thing going to be a real webcam live torture and shooting scenario? Blair Witch was a faked trial. The horror movie industry followed it up with many films like 88 Minutes and more. Even the TV Show Numbers had a plot where men where lured to empty houses from chatrooms and viciously killed. Are we now going to have a real one? How far are we humans going to chase our "15 minutes of fame" as Andy Warhol said.
Who ? nope don't remember him !!!!
