Monday Evening.
Well it would seem that if you steal gazillions of money from people you can get a great deal while awaiting trial. Bernie Madoff is living in his apartment and has not been sent to jail!! His security costs are to be met by him. The list of witnesses will be huge and the taking of all of their statements will take many years. During this preparation time some of the witnesses will pass away. Indeed Mr.Madoff may pass away, too.
Most of the money is believed to be in offshore accounts and the family would appear to be the beneficiaries. It was members of his family who "shopped" him to the authorities which will make them squeaky clean and I would assume that if there is no trial or the defendant dies prior to a result being reached then he is presumed to have been innocent and the money cannot be forfeit.It is all a matter of time.

In Scotland our weather is varying from light to heavy rain as it does most years in late Winter, early Spring. The temperature hovers around 40/45f. What is this Global Warming crap all about??
I just cannot understand what the Global Warming Camp is on about. Data shows that CO2 amounts within the atmosphere rise and fall on a cyclical basis. If less trees had been chopped down then, with photosynthesis, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere would have been lower than it is today. By chopping down trees more CO2 has been allowed to collect in the upper air instead of being processed by the trees and thus producing oxygen.
Leave Nature alone. We should take and replace only what we need not just take what we want too.
