Turkish Prime Minister: I Gave Order to Shoot Down Russia's Plane Myself
Well well well ! A leader of a country who is prepared to stand up and be counted. Now there is a big problem.
If the Russian plane was actually in Turkish air space, then they had the legal right to shoot it down. But if the navigator is to be believed,no radio contact was attempted Again, according to the navigator, the faster Turkish fighter did not fly near to the slower Russian fighter/bomber,in order to warn them or get them to land.Instead the fighter just fired from behind the Russians.
Now that the Turkish Prime Minister has admitted that he ordered the hit, there can be none of the usual blaming of minions, followed by a Court Marshall and cash sum for accepting the blame! Turkey is a member of NATO. Should Russia invade (unlikely) then the other NATO members would have to back up Johnny Turk. which would result in the decimation of most of Europe. Many NATO members also have treaties with the USA which, if honoured, would lead o WW3
Military planes are not fitted with black boxes and so any exact position of the Russian plane would have to come from computations based on satellite information. It will be interesting to see if the USA springs to Russia's defense by providing data.
