Internet split over who's at fault after taxi knocked London cyclist off his bike  | Daily Mail Online



The taxi driver could be in the wrong here. Turning left can only be done if it is clear and safe to do so. If the taxi was in a left turn lane,that would be a different matter, as I presume the bike rider was going straight on, which is illegal in a left turn lane.
However,if the bike rider was under taking, then he is at fault and could be charged with causing an accident and riding without due care and attention. Bike riders need no insurance and payment for any damage to the taxi and compensation for loss of earnings while the tax is being repaired would require a Civil Court case. If the bike rider just bolts,then you don't get their name and address.

Incidents like this,when a driver only has fractions of a second to decide, put me firmly in the ban bikes from roads camp.
