Shrimpton – Air Asia QZ8501 | Veterans TodayPersonally, I believe that this Air Asia plane did suffer a two engine shutdown and became a glider. I believe that the pilots landed in the sea. Then the cabin staff opened the doors ! The weather was so bad and the sea would be in turmoil The water just flooded in and the plane sank! People would not be able to get out due to the strength of the water coming in. Some,no doubt, inflated escape chutes, which would have blocked the doorways,forced inward by the rushing water. If they had life jackets on,some would inflate them inside too.
I do agree that there are too many audible alarms in the cockpit. Flashing lights and a low beeping should be enough, as opposed to blaring noise.
