When ASDA was taken over by Wal Mart, all of the employees had life insurance policies taken out and paid for by ASDA.Wal Mart does this in America.Thy nicknamed it the dead pheasants plan!! The payments were deductible against Corporation Tax. Nedless to say when an employee died th company got the money!!

Fortunately, union officials in America, informed British officials,who immediately told ASDA that they would shut down every store. They won and the policies were cancelled. How many more firms are doing the same thing??
