This is hardly a new thing. When Gerry Lee Lewis came to London on tour, decades ago,he had his 14 yr old wife with him. He was told that if they were sleeping in the same room, he would be charged even although they were,apparently, legally, married. The entourage then began claiming that she was his cousin and was on holiday.



In Scotland,people of 16 yrs old can legally have sex. In the rest of the uk the age is 18.  More and more there are cases of children below these ages having children but it is becoming rare that statutory rape cases are ever brought.

I thing that we in Scotland have it right at 16
