This is certainly true. I would never ever, consider clicking on an avert, in a torrent download site. I have recently found out that my normal security was missing' malware coming in via bittorrent,I assume utorrent and all the others. I hunted round and found www.malwarebytes.com  This concentrates on malware. You get your first scan free, but then you gotta buy it, but it ain't dear and is a one time for life, deal with updates.
